Restraint, a Sale, and Homemade Memes

I’ve backed away from the internet a bit, especially after I started drafting a blog post entitled “In Which I Am Bound to Offend Someone, If Not Everyone”  and realized that perhaps it’s time to take a few deep breaths and keep my thoughts to myself.

So I decided to offer an Independence Day sale* on Dragon’s Rook, and to try my hand at upgrading the level of meme-making from childish to primitive, which is almost the same thing. (wink and a smile)

I am by no means a graphic designer, nor am I an artist, but I do like to play with Paint, OpenOffice Draw, and Picasa, the only drawing and photo editing tools I can afford — ’cause they’re free.

Here are a few recent attempts:

* For a limited time, receive 50% off the e-book version of DRAGON’S ROOK at Smashwords. Choose the format you prefer, then use coupon code “NQ42T” at checkout.

The sale extends through July 25.

Happy Fourth of July!
