We were all hanging out on the sidewalk and the bike rack, waiting for the youth facility to open on Monday morning in the summer of 2008. It was my turn to supervise, and the kids liked to ham for the camera, so I took a few shots.
Here’s one of those happy circumstances, when camera and subject(s) are in alignment. No hammin’ it up here, but a conversation — sorta — between a rather opinionated little girl and the bright boy who liked her (even if she was a little older). These kids are close to being teenagers now, if not already.
This moment reminds me of the time my brother swooped down the steps in kindergarten or first grade, and stole a kiss from the girl for whom he harbored a crush for much of elementary school.
